We would like to invite you to join us in Madrid for the 4th International Meeting on Apicomplexan Parasites in Farm Animals, which will take place at the Euroforum in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Madrid, Spain.  The venue provides a beautiful setting for this meeting, which is dedicated to facilitate networking and scientific exchange in the field. We are delighted to be hosting this meeting following on from the three highly successful and enjoyable Apicowplexa meetings held in Portugal, Turkey and Scotland.

Scientific Programme
The conference will cover several different topics including: systems biology, host-parasite interactions, epidemiology, diagnostics, vaccination and immune responses, biosafety and treatment, food and water borne zoonosis and public engagement and knowledge exchange. See the scientific programme attached.

Abstract submission
The abstract submission (oral communications and posters) will be held from February 1 to May 15, 2017. Posters would sent also from May 16 to August 31, 2017. Instructions will be included in the 2nd announcement.
Publications
The International Journal for Parasitology will publish a special issue, comprised of reviews and/or original research papers, devoted to Apicowplexa 2017. Papers that are included in this issue will undergo strict peer reviewing as for any other manuscript. If you are interested in submitting a paper for this special issue, please send a proposal, including title and short summary of the content, to Andrew Hemphill, University of Bern (andrew.hemphill@vetsuisse.unibe.ch) before January 15th. This special issue will be published at the timepoint of the meeting to be included in the conference bag, thus there is a strict deadline for submission of the complete manuscript: April 30, 2017.
